i got me some new spectacles. don't worry, jennifer. if you don't approve, i have a 30 day "happy with the new look" guarantee.

i don't enjoy the smell of this time of year. it's muddy. i don't like the smell of mud. i do, however, enjoy knowing that the snow will soon be gone.

nofx is playing in halifax on august 14th. hopefully this whole money saving extravaganza will help us to get there. oh, and of course visiting my east coast family is a priority as well :)

all i ever wanted and more

we were in the fourth row. the sound in the theatre was amazing. he was funny. i was so happy.
he played all of his best songs, the ones that give me goosebumps. this time, they brought tears to my eyes.
there are not many pictures. that's how ridiculously fantastic he was.
amazing. just amazing.

melanie = one of the toughest chicks i know

ok. so. last week was tough. melanie found out that she has grade 2 cervical cancer. this is her post about it. when she first told me, she wasn't really sure how serious it was. she doesn't have a tumor, all it is is some cancerous cells located in one specific area. she will have to have an operation to remove the infected tissue and hopefully that will be all. she's gone through so much in her life and even when cancer is thrown into her path she holds her head up and keeps going. STRUT BABE, STRUT.

my to do list

~ get my eyes checked and subsequently get new glasses (yay!)
~ keep going to the damn gym
~ make some more delectible dinners
~ clean out storage and bedroom closets
~ for the next 4 days, become increasingly excited for the solo matt good show and then be dreamily reflective about his amazingness and brilliance
~ have a "no penis" party
~ tell jennifer what i really wanted to write on her back last week
~ send things to d's mom at least once every month because she deserves it
~ have robyn over to escape the testosterone in her house
~ have kelly and thomas over to knock some sense into them (not physically, i will use my words)
~ keep taking the camera wherever we go
~ have hair that i like again
~ buy photo paper and refill the ink in the printer
~ finish watching season 2 of buffy
~ finish reading memoires of a geisha
~ take out the recycling
~ do our taxes

i'm sure there's more, but that's all i can think of for now.

oh, and i guess i'm a big fat liar. hiatus over. chrissy out.

i'm thinking about taking a blogging hiatus. i really don't have much to say about much lately. i figure that if i'm bored with writing, you must be terribly bored with reading what i am so bored to be writing.

so... my decision for now is to keep posting pictures and maybe some little blurbs here and there. but unless there is something monumental that occurs, that will be about it.

of course, all of this could change any day, depending on my mood and what i have to eat that day.

almost iron chef

i'm a dynamo in the kitchen. well, maybe not a dynamo, but i am very amazing. in an effort to save even more money, we have been eating at home more than ever before. i even made freakin' sushi. sushi. i impressed even me with that one.


there's lots going on that i am happy about and also some things that are making me proud. there's some stuff, too, that i can only describe as crap. but the happy and the proud beat the crap out of the, err, um, crap.


have i mentioned that i like my army hat? and also our camera? and darren. i like darren too.
